US, South Korea Agree on Extended Deterrence Against North Korea
The US and South Korea on Wednesday unveiled a new agreement aimed at deterring North Korea’s nuclear threat and aggression.

President Joe Biden hosted an afternoon Rose Garden news conference with South Korean counterpart Yoon Suk-yeol and announced the plan, which includes periodically docking US nuclear-armed submarines in South Korea amid increasing nuclear tests from Pyongyang. This has not happened since the 1980s.
